Subject line is for... the subject

As a fan of the Tennessee Lady Vols basketeball program, I read their message boards, the Summitt, quite a bit. Here are a few topic/subject lines... the titles that are supposed to get people interested in reading the actual post involved.

I have a question; hopefully I get a response.... [Why not just put the subject of the question in the headline????]

WAY OT, but y'all outta get a kick out of this! [It's "oughta," and could you give us a little hint???]

Softball [Yes? What about it?]

Updates? [Updates on what? Turns out the original poster wanted to know how to get game updates. This despite the fact that the season won't start for another month or so.]

Just got home... made myyself a Beefeater martini... sat down [and? Admittedly, 456 people actually read this initial post...God knows why]

All the players new and said nothing [Yes, that's how the OP spelled "knew". The topic was that one of the assistant coaches had had cancer.]

Raiting our class of 2011 [Okay, that one does give a decent subject, but "raiting"? Are these college kids/graduates posting here?

Is Williams still [what? 964 people read this post, no one responded. The rest of the message - the entire rest of the message: ":on campus visiting?" Hey, that whole question would have fit on the subject line, y'know?

This is ridiculous [What is? But of course, 2058 people actually read this post, and 14 people responded. Turns out it was someone complaining of the woman's basktball team being on TV rather than the guys. And even then, you wouldn't know it if you didn't follow the link in the OP to an article about it. The OP couldn't be bothered to summarize it.]

I'm picking on the Summitt message board, but this kind of shoddy thinking really permeates most message boards.
